The RSIT (Self-Rating) is a 28-item survey instrument designed to measure four independent components of emotional intelligence (SI): situational awareness, situational response, cognitive empathy, and social skills.
Minimum order for any instrument is for 300 copies. $75,000 fine for unauthorized use of each of the following instruments.
The four components of SI are measured with 7 items each. In the observer-rating, an organizational member responds to each statement on a 5–point Likert (box) scale (5 = Strongly Agree . . . 1 = Strongly Disagree) to indicate to what extent their supervisor is socially intelligent. In the self-rating, an organizational member responds to each statement on a 5–point Likert (box) scale (5 = Strongly Agree . . . 1 = Strongly Disagree) to indicate to what extent they are socially intelligent. A higher score represents greater of one component of social intelligence. The RSIT is brief which can be administered in 8 minutes. Sample items of the instrument are:
