The EQI is a 28-item survey instrument designed to measure four independent components of emotional intelligence (EQ): self-awareness, awareness others’ emotions, regulation of emotions in self and others, and using emotions for productive purposes.
Minimum order for any instrument is for 300 copies. $75,000 fine for unauthorized use of each of the following instruments.
The four components of EQ are measured with 7 items each. An organizational member responds to each statement on a 5–point Likert (box) scale (5 = Strongly Agree . . . 1 = Strongly Disagree) to indicate to what extent they are emotional intelligent. A higher score represents greater of one component of emotional intelligence. The EQI is brief which can be administered in 8 minutes. Sample items of the instrument are:
